These delicious little treats have not only the reminiscent texture and sweetness of those childhood lollies, but they also do absolute wonders for the gut! Gelatin and collagen are said to be “particularly important in healing leaky gut because they are the basic building blocks of your intestinal wall. The microscopic folds or “villi” in the intestines are built of collagen. The amino acids in gelatin/collagen heal these damaged cells and build new tissue. Along with repairing a leaky gut, collagen and gelatin strengthen hair, skin, and nails. They can help prevent joint pain, support weight management, protect your heart, support bone repair, and positively impact liver function”.*

Ingredients:

1 mango

1 orange

½- 1 lemon

1-2 tbsp. raw honey or maple syrup (optional)

2 tbsp. unflavoured gelatin powder (grass-fed if possible)

Method:

  1. Peel and roughly chop the mango and add it to a blender. Add orange juice, lemon juice and honey/maple (if using). Blend until smooth.

  2. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and place on low heat. When the mixture is just warm add in the gelatin and whisk continuously until it has completely dissolved.

  3. Pour the hot liquid into a silicon mould.

  4. Refrigerate for at least an hour. The gummies are ready when they feel firm to touch. Enjoy!
